2022 EASTON/NFCA DIVISION III ALL-AMERICA SCHOLAR-ATHLETES

MINNEAPOLIS -- With 11 student-athletes earning Easton/National Fastpitch Coaches Association Division III All-America Scholar-Athlete honors, the 2022 Augsburg University softball team recorded a 3.573 team grade-point average, finishing in a tie for 42nd place among NCAA Division III softball programs, it was announced on Monday.

Under sixth-year head coach Melissa Lee, Augsburg's 3.573 team GPA ranked 42nd among the 115 NCAA Division III softball programs that had team GPAs above 3.00 in the Easton/NFCA national ranking. Augsburg was one of eight Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference schools in the team GPA national ranking.

Eleven Auggies received Easton/NFCA Division III All-America Scholar-Athlete honors, recording a 3.5 or better cumulative GPA in the 2021-22 school year. Six were repeat selections to the squad -- Sammie Balint (JR, Golden Valley, Minn./Robbinsdale Armstrong HS), Sara Deming (SR, Bloomington, Minn./Jefferson HS), Kayla Hanson (SR, St. James, Minn./St. James HS), Katie Manecke (SO, Shoreview, Minn./Mounds View HS), Olivia O'Connor (SO, White Bear Lake, Minn./White Bear Lake HS) and Myia Sarff (SO, South St. Paul, Min./South St. Paul HS).

Seven Auggie softball players earned Academic All-MIAC honors this school year.
