MINNEAPOLIS – The Augsburg University men's and women's track and field teams made the short trip across the river to the University of Minnesota on Wednesday, competing with NCAA Division I, II, and III participants at the Running on Hope Invitational.
MEN'S HIGHLIGHTS
•
Aaron Puent (SR, La Crosse, Wis./La Crosse Aquinas HS) was the top overall finisher for the Auggie men, placing ninth in the 3000-meter steeplechase with a time of 11:22.58. That time set a new personal record and ranked sixth for Division III competitors in attendance.
•
Getinat Asfaw (JR, Eagan, Minn./Rosemount HS) competed in the 800 and 1500-meter runs, placing 10
th and 13
th, respectively. His 800-meter time of 1:56.54 was less than a second from his personal record, good for third among Division III competitors in the race. In the 1500, he clocked a time of 4:05.92, also ranking him third in the Division III ranks at the meet.

Varney Conneh (SR, Champlin, Minn./Champlin Park HS) placed 24
th in the 100-meter dash, finishing with a time of 11.24 seconds.
• The lone field competitor for the Auggies,
Ali Ahmed (FY, Woodbury, Minn./Step Academy) set a new personal record in the shot put with a throw of 8.48 meters.
WOMEN'S HIGHLIGHTS
•
Allison Hookom (FY, Andover, Minn./Anoka HS) competed in the 200-meter dash, placing 24
th with a time of 26.53 seconds. With that time, Hookom placed fifth among DIII competitors.

Annabel Lantz (SO, Afton, Minn./Stillwater Area HS) clocked a time of 6:09.91 in the 1500-meter run, good for 35
th place overall.
•
Mya Bishop (JR, St. Paul, Minn./Highland HS) finished 46
th in the 100-meter dash, logging a time of 13.73 seconds.
