ST. PAUL, Minn. – The Augsburg University men's and women's track and field teams returned to action on Friday after being idle for nearly three weeks, competing among NCAA Division I, II, and III participants at the Tomcat Invitational hosted by the University of St. Thomas.
MEN'S HIGHLIGHTS
•
Mohammed Bati (FY, Dodola, Ethiopia, GAP School) competed in the 1500-meter run for the first time in his collegiate career, coming within three seconds of the school record with a time of 3:58.75, placing him ninth overall. With that time, Bati currently holds the
fourth-fastest clocking in the Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference this season.

Varney Conneh (SR, Champlin, Minn./Champlin Park HS) placed 11
th in the 100-meter dash with a time of 11.30 seconds.

Getinat Asfaw (JR, Eagan, Minn./Rosemount HS) finished 19
th in the 1500-meter run with a time of 4:05.61 while
Sakariya Hussien (SR, Hopkins, Minn./Hopkins HS) took 32
nd place with a time of 4:11.95.

Trajen Clayton (FY) placed 10
th and set a new personal record in the 110-meter hurdles, crossing the finish line in 16.55 seconds.
WOMEN'S HIGHLIGHTS
•
CC Cesare (FY, Crystal, Minn./Armstrong HS) placed second and shattered the long-standing school record in the outdoor triple jump, setting a new personal best with a leap of 10.77 meters, topping the previous record of 10.48 meters set by Karen Mayer in 1986. With that distance, Cesare currently
ranks second in the MIAC this season.

Allison Hookom (FY, Andover, Minn./Anoka HS) made her collegiate debut in the 100-meter dash, placing 13
th with a time of 13.05 seconds.
•
Brooklyn Conrad (FY, Ortonville, Minn./Ortonville HS) clocked a time of 5:14.00 in the 1500-meter run, setting a new personal record by more than nine seconds.

• The Auggies will take a week off before competing twice next week, first at the M City Classic hosted by the University of Minnesota on Wednesday (4/19) and next at the Holst Invitational hosted by Concordia-St. Paul on Saturday (4/22).
