MINNEAPOLIS -- Twelve Augsburg University student-athletes were recently named to the Academic All-District Team, as selected by College Sports Communicators (formerly CoSIDA), in the men's/women's at-large and women's swimming and diving categories.
 
Named to the men's at-large Academic All-District team were Auggie men's golfer Stellan Orvick (JR, Minneapolis, Minn./Washburn HS), men's hockey players Austin Dollimer (SR, Rosemount, Minn./Rosemount HS) and Gavin Holland (SR, Stillwater, Minn./Stillwater HS), and men's wrestlers Tyler Shilson (SR, Maple Grove, Minn./Centennial HS) and Charlie Stuhl (SO, Ellsworth, Wis./Ellsworth HS). Named to the women's at-large Academic All-District team were Auggie women's hockey players Payton Allen (SR, St. Michael, Minn./St. Michael-Albertville HS), Emily Cronkhite (SO, Eagan, Minn./Eagan HS) and Katie Flynn (SR, Woodbury, Minn./East Ridge HS), and women's lacrosse players Mackenzie Galazen (SO, Kimball, Minn./Rocori HS) and Alexa Hoffman (JR, Rochester, Minn./Mayo HS). Named to the women's swimming and diving Academic All-District team were Maya Merritt (JR, Inver Grove Heights, Minn./Simley HS) and Lexci Wourenma (SO, Andover, Minn./Anoka HS).

Peyton AllenPAYTON ALLEN
Allen is an exercise science major at Augsburg with a 4.00 grade-point average. A women's hockey defender, Allen earned All-Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference honors for the second straight year in 2022-23, and was named as the MIAC's Elite 22 honoree in women's hockey, given to the student-athlete with the highest cumulative grade-point average among competing teams in MIAC playoffs. Allen was one of the team's leaders on defense in 2022-23, scoring three goals with 10 assists for 13 points. She scored two power-play goals and two game-winning goals, recording a plus-19 plus-minus rating. She also had 15 blocked shots, and had a goal or assist in 10 of her 27 games played this season.

In her 90-game collegiate career, Allen finished with six goals and 26 assists for 32 points, with three power-play goals, two game-winning goals and a plus-31 plus-minus rating. She was a team captain this season. Allen is also a two-time Academic All-MIAC honoree and two-time American Hockey Coaches Association All-American Scholar honoree.

Emily CronkhiteEMILY CRONKHITE
An All-MIAC women's hockey honoree, Cronkhite is a biology major at Augsburg with a 3.92 grade-point average. Cronkhite was one of the top scorers in the MIAC this season, leading the Auggies with 15 goals and 19 assists for 34 points, with one power-play goal, a shorthanded goal and three game-winning goals. She ranked fourth among MIAC players in goals, third in assists and first in points. Cronkhite had a goal or assist in 21 of her 27 games played, with three multi-goal games and eight multi-point games. In her 52 collegiate games over the last two seasons, Cronkhite now has 24 goals and 25 assists for 49 points. Cronkhite earned MIAC All-Rookie Team honors last year.

In Augsburg's two MIAC playoff games this season, Cronkhite had a goal and three assists for four points, earning her a spot on the MIAC All-Playoff Team.

Austin DollimerAUSTIN DOLLIMER
An All-MIAC men's hockey honoree for the second straight year and an All-MIAC Rookie Team honoree in 2018-19, Dollimer is a finance/management major at Augsburg with a 3.84 grade-point average. Dollimer had an outstanding season, appearing in 27 games and ranking eighth in the MIAC with 12 goals and fourth in the conference with 19 assists, putting him fifth in the conference and first on the team with 31 total points on the year. Dollimer was also strong on the dot for Augsburg, owning the MIAC's fifth-best face-off percentage at .569. Dollimer was also selected to the eight-member All-Playoff team after helping the Auggies claim the MIAC Playoff title with two goals against Saint John's on Feb. 25 and an assist in the conference championship against St. Scholastica on March 4.

In his 112-game college career, Dollimer finished with 31 goals and 67 assists for 98 points, with seven power-play goals, a shorthanded goal and five game-winning goals, with a plus-33 plus-minus rating. Dollimer is a two-time Academic All-MIAC honoree and two-time AHCA All-American Scholar honoree.

Katie FlynnKATIE FLYNN
An All-MIAC women's hockey honoree, Flynn is a biopsychology major at Augsburg with a 3.97 grade-point average. Flynn capped her outstanding career with career-highs of 10 goals, 12 assists and 22 points, with three power-play goals, a shorthanded goal and a game-winning goal. She recorded a plus-22 plus-minus rating. Her 12 assists were tied for 10th-most among MIAC players, with her 22 points 12th-best. Flynn had a goal or assist in 16 of her 27 games played, with a seven-game point streak midway through the season.

In her 89-game college career, Flynn finished with 26 goals and 35 assists for 61 points, five power-play goals, one shorthanded goal, four game-winning goals and a plus-24 plus-minus rating. Her 26 goals are tied for 15th-most in school history, with her 35 assists 10th-most and 61 points 12th-most. Flynn was named an All-MIAC Honorable Mention and MIAC All-Rookie Team honoree in 2019-20, and is a two-time Academic All-MIAC honoree and two-time AHCA All-American Scholar honoree.

Mackenzie GalazenMACKENZIE GALAZEN
An All-Midwest Women's Lacrosse Conference second-team selection in 2022, Galazen is an undecided major at Augsburg with a 3.95 grade-point average. Galazen earned MWLC Athlete of the Week honors twice this season. She finished the 2023 campaign third on the team in scoring, with 18 goals and an assist for 19 points, adding 43 ground balls, 60 draw controls and 23 caused turnovers. She finished 11th among MWLC players in overall ground balls, tied for sixth in draw controls and tied for 10th in caused turnovers.

In her two seasons as an Auggie (32 games), she has scored 34 goals with an assist for 35 points, with 71 ground balls, 106 draw controls and 37 caused turnovers. Galazen earned Academic All-MWLC honors last season.

Alexa HoffmanALEXA HOFFMAN
An All-Midwest Women's Lacrosse Conference first-team selection in 2022, Hoffman is an exercise science major at Augsburg with a 3.95 grade-point average. Hoffman finished the 2023 campaign second on the team in scoring, with 26 goals and three assists for 29 points, adding 18 ground balls, five draw controls and nine caused turnovers. She finished tied for 16th among MWLC players in goals and tied for 17th in points.

In her three seasons as an Auggie (41 games), she has scored 26 goals with four assists for 30 points, with 55 ground balls, 31 draw controls and 28 caused turnovers. Hoffman earned Academic All-MWLC honors last season.

Gavin HollandGAVIN HOLLAND
An All-MIAC men's hockey honoree for the second straight year after earning All-MIAC Honorable Mention honors in 2019-20, Holland is a marketing major at Augsburg with a 3.54 grade-point average.Holland was another standout forward for Augsburg, ranking fifth in the conference and leading the team with 14 goals and adding 12 assists (tied for 13th in the MIAC)  for a total of 26 points, good for seventh in the conference and second on the team. With 106 shots in his 27 appearances, Holland led the conference in shots per-game, while tying for the conference lead with three game-winning goals and two shorthanded goals. Holland also earned a spot on the All-Playoff team after recording an assist against Saint John's on Feb. 25 and adding a goal and an assist in the conference championship against St. Scholastica on March 4.

In his 115-game college career, Holland finished with 48 goals and 35 assists for 83 points, with 12 power-play goals, two shorthanded goals and eight game-winning goals, with a plus-17 plus-minus rating. Holland is a three-time Academic All-MIAC honoree and 2021-22 AHCA All-American Scholar honoree.

Maya MerrittMAYA MERRITT
A three-year veteran of the Augsburg women's swimming and diving program, Merritt is an urban studies/environmental studies major with a 3.90 grade-point average. Merritt swam season-best times of 36.71 seconds in the 50-yard freestyle, 1:20.66 in the 100-yard freestyle and 1:27 in the 100-yard backstroke in 2022-23. She has career bests of 31.25 seconds in the 50-yard freestyle, 1:08.44 in the 100-yard freestyle, 2:29.71 in the 200-yard freestyle, 1:18.14 in the 100-yard backstroke and 3:00.79 in the 200-yard backstroke.

Merritt was an Academic All-MIAC honoree last season. She is a member of the Augsburg Environmental Action Committee and a member of the Augsburg Concert Band.

Stellan OrvickSTELLAN ORVICK
A three-time All-MIAC men's golf honoree, Orvick is a management major at Augsburg with a 3.60 grade-point average. Orvick led the way for Augsburg in the 2022-23 season, averaging 75.8 strokes per-round with an .806 (533-128) win-loss percentage, the 14th-best single-season stroke average for an Auggie men's golfer in modern history (since 1994-95). His 75.8 season stroke average is currently 10th-best among MIAC players. He finished among the top 20 individuals in four of his seven events this season, including a second-place finish at the Augsburg Fall Invitational on Sept. 3-4. Orvick finished in a tie for 21st place at the 2022 MIAC Championships in October. He scored in the 70s in 15 of his 17 rounds this season.

His 75.25 career stroke average is currently second-best for an Auggie since 1994-95, behind the 74.88 average of Brett Buckingham (2016-20). He has an .818 (1,205-269) career win-loss percentage, with nine top-10 finishes and seven top-five finishes in 20 career events. He was also named to the Golf Coaches Association of America/PING Division III All-Central Region Team in 2021-22 and 2020-21. He earned Academic All-MIAC honors in 2021-22.

Tyler ShilsonTYLER SHILSON
A CSC Academic All-District and Academic All-America second-team honoree last season, Shilson is a finance major with a 4.00 grade-point average. Shilson earned the third All-America honor of his career in 2022-23, finishing second at 157 pounds at the 2023 NCAA Division III National Championships. He went 29-5 in his senior season, with six pins, 13 technical falls and five major decisions. Shilson earned National Wrestling Coaches Association Division III All-America honors with a third-place finish at 157 in 2021, and finished third at 157 at the 2022 NCAA Division III National Championships.

A two-time NWCA Scholar All-American who competed at Wisconsin in 2017-18 and Tennessee-Chattanooga in 2019-20 before transferring to Augsburg, Shilson finished his three-season Augsburg career at 72-10, with 12 pins, 36 technical falls and 11 major decisions. In his full college career, Shilson was 100-34, with 17 pins, 44 technical falls and 17 major decisions.

Charlie StuhlCHARLIE STUHL
A finance major with a 4.00 grade-point average, Stuhl earned All-American honors with an eighth-place finish at 149 pounds at the 2023 NCAA Division III National Championships. He won the NCAA Division III Upper Midwest Regional title at 157 this season, and finished 32-6 with five pins, four technical falls and five major decisions. He was making his second national tournament appearance of his career, after competing at the 2021 National Wrestling Coaches Association Division III National Championships at 149.

A three-time NWCA Scholar All-American, Stuhl is now 67-21 in his Auggie career, with 12 pins, 12 technical falls and 10 major decisions.

Lexci WuorenmaLEXCI WOURENMA
A two-year veteran of the Augsburg women's swimming and diving program, Wourenma is a biology/environmental studies major with a 3.57 grade-point average. Wourenma placed 25th at the 2023 MIAC Championships in the 50-yard freestyle with a career-best time of 25.69 seconds, the eighth-fastest time in school history. She also set career-best times in the 50-yard backstroke (29.91 seconds) and 100-yard backstroke (1:06.61) at the 2023 MIAC meet. She also swam as part of four relays that set season-best times at the MIAC Championships.

Wourenma holds the second-fastest time in school history in the 100-yard freestyle (55:35 seconds, set in 2022), and finished 22nd at the 2023 MIAC Championships in the event in a season-best 56.53-second time.
 
The CSC Academic All-District team is part of the CSC Academic All-America program. Top student-athletes are nominated for inclusion on the Academic All-District teams by college and university sports information directors. Student-athletes must have a grade-point average above 3.50 (4.0 scale) and have outstanding athletic credentials. The Division III Academic All-America program is being financially supported by the NCAA Division III national governance structure, to assist CSC with handling the awards fulfillment aspects for the Division III Academic All-America teams program.
