2023 MWLCÂ SEASON AWARDS
MINNEAPOLIS -- Augsburg University women's lacrosse players
Jade Wilson (FY, Waukee, Iowa/Northwest HS) and
Kayla Courtney (JR, Maplewood, Minn./Roseville HS) earned postseason honors from the Midwest Women's Lacrosse Conference on Friday, Wilson being named an All-MWLC First-Team honoree and Courtney earning All-MWLC Sportsmanship Team honors.

Wilson finished the season at the
MWLC's overall leader in goals (56) and draw controls (95), while standing third in points (58), second in ground balls (69) and third in caused turnovers (35). She set a new single-season school record for goals, breaking the old mark of 53 set by Helena Nguyen in 2018. Wilson's 58 points are the third-most in a single season in school history. Her 69 ground balls tie a single-season school record, also set by Maddie Seykora (2019) and Delaney Everett (2017). Her 95 draw controls are fourth-most in a season, and her 35 caused turnovers are tied for seventh-most.Â
In MWLC games-only, Wilson finished the season as the league's leader in goals (33) and tied for first in points (33), while she was tied for second in draw controls (42), third in caused turnovers (17) and fourth in ground balls (29).
Wilson scored a goal in each of Augsburg's 16 games this season, with 14 multi-goal games. She had a seven-goal effort in
Augsburg's 22-12 win at Monmouth (Ill.) on April 1, then set a single-game school record with a nine-goal effort in
Augsburg's 16-9 win over Wartburg (Iowa) on April 12. Her nine points against the Knights tied a single-game school record. She earned MWLC Offensive Athlete of the Week honors twice this season.

Courtney was named to the All-MWLC Sportsmanship Team, as part of the conference's sportsmanship initiative. Members are selected by their coaches and teammates as individuals who demonstrate ideals of positive sportsmanship both on and off the field of competition.Â
A starter in all 16 games for the Auggies, Courtney finished the season with 14 ground balls and 11 caused turnovers. She has appeared in 42 games in her Auggie career, with one goal and two assists for three points, to go along with 35 ground balls and 20 caused turnovers.
Under 10th-year head coach
