TOURNAMENT RESULTS

MAPLE PLAIN, Minn. – Stellan Orvick (SR, Minneapolis, Minn./Washburn HS) claimed one of the best 54-hole scores in the modern history of the Augsburg University men's golf program, shooting a 218 total to lead the Auggies at the Bethel University/University of Minnesota Golf Classic, held on Saturday and Sunday at Pioneer Creek Golf Course.

HOW IT HAPPENED
• Playing 18 holes on Saturday and 36 holes on Sunday, Orvick finished with a three-day total of 2-over-par 218 (74-71-73), tied for 27th in the 114-player field, which included 34 individual golfers from NCAA Division I programs that were competing at the University of Minnesota Gopher Invitational at nearby Windsong Farm Golf Club. Orvick's score was tied for the fourth-best non-Division I competitor score in the field.
• Orvick's 218 score is tied for the eighth-best 54-hole score in the modern history (since 1994-95) of Augsburg's men's golf program. Brett Buckingham set the school record of 212 in 2017. Orvick also is tied for the second-best (216) and fifth-best (217) scores in program history.
• As a team, Augsburg finished in 10th place in the 12-school, 16-team field with a 54-hole total of 908 (312-297-299), the 16th-best 54-hole total in program history. Eleven of the 12 schools competing in the team event were NCAA Division III programs, including Augsburg, with one junior college team also in the field.
• River Goodmanson (SR, Buffalo, Minn./Buffalo HS) finished in a tie for 59th place, shooting a 227 (79-74-74) total, while Fritz Belisle (SR, Red Wing, Minn./Red Wing HS) finished with a 231 (80-79-72) total.
• Vincent Weis (SR, Madison, Wis./Edgewood HS) shot 232 (79-73-80), and Sawyer Bailey (SR, Eden Prairie, Minn./Minnetonka HS) rounded out the Augsburg main lineup with a 256 (85-83-88) total.
• For Augsburg's B squad, Luke Mountain (JR, Woodbury, Minn./Shattuck-St. Mary's HS) led the way with a 241 (82-71-78) score, with Hunter Ubel (FY, Lino Lakes, Minn./Centennial HS) finishing with 245 (82-83-80).
• Reece Moore (FY, Minneapolis, Minn./South HS) shot 252 (82-85-85), Vince Bertram (FY, St. Cloud, Minn./St. Cloud Tech HS) shot 260 (90-86-84) and Andrew Hicks (SR, Minnetonka, Minn./Minnetonka HS) shot 273 (88-96-89).
