NORTHFIELD, Minn. – The Augsburg University men's and women's track and field teams continued their indoor seasons on Saturday, competing at the St. Olaf College Invitational in Northfield.
MEN'S HIGHLIGHTS
•
Getinat Asfaw (SR. Eagan, Minn./Rosemount HS) placed fifth in the 1000-meter run, clocking a time of 2:37.34.
•
Mohammed Bati (SO, Dodola, Ethiopia/GAP School) competed in his first 5,000-meter run of the season on Friday evening, placing seventh in the 47-runner field with a time of 14:38.95.
•
Shareef Oty (FY, Burnsville, Minn./Burnsville HS) set a new personal record in the 800-meter with a time of 2:05.32, more than three seconds faster than his time last weekend.
• Corey DeLoach (FY, Minneapolis, Minn./Robbinsdale Cooper HS) made his collegiate debut in the shot put, placing 19
th with a distance of 11.23 meters.
WOMEN'S HIGHLIGHTS
•
Allison Hookom (SO, Andover, Minn./Anoka HS) secured the highest finish of any Auggie in the meet, placing second among the 18 competitors in the 400-meter dash with a time of 58.84 seconds.
•
Gracie Johnson (SR, Red Wing, Minn./Red Wing HS) finished 18
th among the 33 runners in the women's 5000-meter run, clocking a time of 18:56.25.
UP NEXT
• The Auggies will compete at the Gopher Classic hosted by the University of Minnesota on Saturday, February 3 with field events starting at 9 am and running events following at 11:40.
