TOURNAMENT RESULTS
EDINA, Minn. – With two competitors finishing among the top 23 placers, the Augsburg University men's golf team finished in eighth place at the 2024 Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Championships, held Saturday to Monday at Braemar Golf Course.

HOW IT HAPPENED
• Competing in their fifth MIAC championship meets,
Stellan Orvick (SR, Minneapolis, Minn./Washburn HS) and
River Goodmanson (SR, Buffalo, Minn./Buffalo HS) each recorded top-30 finishes in every one of their conference championships. This year, Orvick finished in a tie for 16th place in the 45-golfer field with a 226 (75-81-70), his fifth straight top-21 finish.
• Goodmanson finished in a tie for 23rd place, his third top-23 finish in conference competition, with a 231 (75-76-80) total.
• As a team, the Auggies finished in eighth place with a 54-hole total of 957 (311-325-321), with its first-round 311 the team's second-best 18-hole score of the fall season.

Hunter Ubel (SO, Lino Lakes, Minn./Centennial HS) shot a career-best 54-hole score of 247 to place 40th in the field.
Vince Bertram (SO, St. Cloud, Minn./St. Cloud Tech HS) finished in 44th place with a 255 (84-87-84) score, and
Luke Mountain (SR, Woodbury, Minn./Shattuck-St. Mary's HS) finished in 45th place with a 257 (84-85-88) total.
BEYOND THE BOXSCORE
• A four-time All-MIAC honoree, Orvick finished the fall half of the season with a team-leading 76.9 stroke average. His 75.5 career stroke average (75.5 career rounds) is second-best in the modern history of Augsburg men's golf (since 1994-95).
• An All-MIAC competitor in the 2019-20 season, Goodmanson finished the fall half of this season with a 77.2 stroke average, second-best on the team. His 77.65 career stroke average (76.5 career rounds) is 12th-best in school history.
