MINNEAPOLIS – Augsburg University women's swimming and diving student-athletes
Lucy Pederson (SO, Apple Valley, Minn./Eastview HS) and
Lexci Wuorenma (JR, Andover, Minn./Anoka HS) were each named to the Academic All-District Division III Women's Swimming and Diving Team, as selected by College Sports Communicators (formerly CoSIDA), it was announced this week.
Pederson is a data science major with a 3.69 grade-point average, while Wuorenma is a psychology major with a 3.62 GPA. It is Wuorenma's second straight year named to the CSC Academic All-District Team.
Wuorenma competed in the sprint freestyle events this season, setting personal-best and top-10 times in school history in all three of her events at the
Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Championships in February. She finished in 25.35 seconds (fifth-fastest time in school history) in the 50-yard freestyle, 55.59 seconds (third-fastest) in the 100-yard freestyle, and 2:04.12 (fourth-fastest) in the 200-yard freestyle.
Pederson competed in freestyle and breaststroke events this season, also setting personal-best times in all three of her events at the MIAC championships. She swam the 50-yard freestyle in 28.96 seconds, the 100-yard freestyle in 1:03.54 and the 100-yard breaststroke in 1:25.89.
The CSC Academic All-District team is part of the
CSC Academic All-America program. Student-athletes must have a grade-point average above 3.50 (4.0 scale) and have outstanding athletic credentials. Academic All-District honorees are considered for advancement to the CSC Academic All-America ballot. The Division III Academic All-America program is being financially supported by the NCAA Division III national governance structure, to assist CSC with handling the awards fulfillment aspects for the Division III Academic All-America teams program.
