Five Auggies named CSC Academic All-District

MINNEAPOLIS – Augsburg University softball players Olivia Funk (SR, Lewiston, Minn./Lewiston-Altura HS), Zoie Johnson (SR, Carlton, Minn./Esko HS), Morgann Paaske (SR, Crystal Lake, Ill./Crystal Lake Central HS), Lola Pilon (SO, Farmington, Minn./Mounds Park Academy HS) and Torrie Rehder (SR, Goodhue, Minn./Goodhue HS) were named to the Academic All-District Softball Team, as selected by College Sports Communicators (formerly CoSIDA), it was announced on Tuesday.

Funk is a social work major with a 3.93 grade-point average, Johnson is a biology major with a 3.72 GPA, Paaske is a psychology major with a 3.58 GPA, Pilon is a biology major with a 3.81 GPA, and Rehder is a psychology major with a 3.77 GPA. It is the third straight year that Johnson and Rehder have earned CSC Academic All-District honors in softball, and the first CSC honor for Funk, Paaske and Pilon. All five will earn Academic All-MIAC honors this season, Johnson and Paaske for the third time each, and Funk, Paaske and Pilon for the first time.

Pilon and Paaske earned All-Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference honors earlier this month, with Johnson earning All-MIAC Honorable Mention honors. Johnson was an All-MIAC honoree in 2024, with Paaske earning All-MIAC Honorable Mention honors. Rehder earned All-MIAC Honorable Mention honors in both 2024 and 2023. 

Lola PilonPilon will advance to the CSC Academic All-America ballot based on her 2025 accomplishments. Augsburg's starting first baseman, Pilon finished second on the team in batting, hitting .342 (38-of-111) in 40 games (40 starts), one of two Auggies to start all 40 games this season. She scored 19 runs and had a team-best 12 doubles, one triple and five home runs, driving in 27 runs. She had 15 walks, and recorded a .604 slugging percentage and .423 on-base percentage. She had the best fielding percentage among Auggie regulars, at .973 (eight errors in 296 defensive chances). Her 270 putouts were third-most in a single season in school history. Pilon's .604 slugging percentage was seventh-best among MIAC players in overall statistics, with her .423 on-base percentage 19th-best and her 1.027 OPS tied for eighth-best. Her 12 doubles (tied for sixth in a single season in school history) were tied for eighth among MIAC players, with her five home runs (tied for sixth in a single season in school history) tied for fourth-most.

In her two seasons (80 games, 80 starts), Pilon is hitting .336 (79-of-235), with 36 runs scored, 21 doubles, one triple, eight home runs, 56 RBI, 23 walks, a .536 slugging percentage and .413 on-base percentage. She has a .984 career fielding percentage (10 errors in 611 chances).  Her eight career home runs are ninth-most in school history.

Olivia FunkA designated player, outfielder and pitcher this season, Funk hit .296 (32-of-108) in 38 games (37 starts), with five doubles, a triple and home run, 11 runs scored, 20 RBI, eight walks, a .389 slugging percentage and .345 on-base percentage. She had six multiple-hit games and six multiple-RBI games this season, with at least one hit in 23 of her 38 games. Pitching for the first time in her collegiate career this season, Funk appeared in 10 games (two starts) and 28.0 innings, with an 0-2 record, 6.25 earned-run average, and 17 strikeouts against 29 walks and a .313 opponent batting average. 

Playing two seasons at Augsburg after transferring from Iowa Lakes Community College, Funk finished her 56-game (55 starts) Auggie career with a .306 (48-of-157) batting average, with nine doubles, one triple and three home runs, 24 runs scored, 32 RBI, 17 walks, a .433 slugging percentage and .381 on-base percentage.

Zoie JohnsonAugsburg's starting right fielder, Johnson hit .333 (30-of-90) in 35 games (35 starts), with 13 runs scored, eight doubles, four home runs, 15 RBI, 10 walks, a .556 slugging percentage and a .429 on-base percentage. She had at least one hit in 22 of her 25 games, with six multiple-hit games. Her slugging percentage was 15th-best among MIAC players, with her on-base percentage were 16th-best and her .985 OPS 13th-best. Her four home runs were tied for 11th-most in the MIAC.

Starting 138 of 146 games in her career, Johnson hit .319 (129-of-404), with 59 runs scored, 24 doubles, 13 home runs, 66 RBI, 25 walks, a .475 slugging percentage and .373 on-base percentage. She also had 30 outfield assists in her career. Johnson's 13 career home runs are fourth-most in school history.

Morgann PaaskePaaske led the Auggies in both hitting and pitching in 2025. Appearing in 28 games (23 starts) as a pitcher, Paaske was 11-13 in 139.2 innings pitched, with 19 complete games, a 3.71 earned-run average and three shutouts. She collected 91 strikeouts against 51 walks and a .297 opponent batting average. Among MIAC players in overall statistics, Paaske pitched in the second-most innings of any conference pitcher, with her 91 strikeouts fourth-most in the league.

At the plate, Paaske hit .407 (44-of-108) in 39 games (38 starts), with seven doubles, six home runs, 33 RBI, 26 runs scored, 16 walks, two stolen bases, a .639 slugging percentage and .492 on-base percentage. Her six home runs and 33 RBI were both tied for the third-most in a single season in school history, with her .639 slugging percentage sixth-best. Paaske's .407 batting average was fourth-best among MIAC players, as was her .492 on-base percentage. Her .639 slugging percentage was fifth-best, and her 1.131 OPS was fourth-best. Her six home runs were tied for second-most in the MIAC, with her 33 RBI tied for fifth-most. She had a team-best 15 multiple-hit games and 12 multiple-RBI games.

A transfer from NAIA program Trinity International (Ill.), Paaske finished her two seasons as an Auggie with a 23-20 pitching record in 48 appearances (42 starts), with 31 complete games, five shutouts, a 23-20 record and a 3.60 ERA in 253.0 innings pitched. She recorded 157 strikeouts against 91 walks and a .289 opponent batting average. At the plate in 67 games (63 starts), she hit .347 (59-of-170) with 42 runs scored, 11 doubles, nine triples, 43 RBI, 28 walks, a .571 slugging percentage and .446 on-base percentage. Her nine career home runs are eighth-most in school history, with her .571 slugging percentage fifth-best. Her 23 pitching wins are 10th-most in school history, with her five shutouts tied for sixth-most.

Torrie RehderA four-year starter at shortstop, Rehder hit .302 (32-of-106) in 37 games (34 starts) this season, scoring a team-best 32 runs (sixth-most in the MIAC) as the team's leadoff hitter. She had nine doubles (tied for 13th in the MIAC), a triple and five home runs (tied for fourth in the MIAC) this season, driving in 28 runs (12th in the MIAC). Adding 14 walks and five stolen bases in six attempts, she had a .547 slugging percentage (16th-best in the MIAC), .383 on-base percentage and .930 OPS (17th in the MIAC). She had a hit in 24 of her 37 games played, with six multiple-hit games and nine multiple-RBI games. Her five home runs were tied for the sixth-most in a single season in school history, with her 32 runs tied for 10th-most.

Starting 150 of 153 career games, Rehder finished her career with a .281 (133-of-473) batting average, scoring 99 runs. She had 32 doubles, four triples, eight home runs, 42 walks, 75 RBI, a .416 slugging percentage and .344 on-base percentage. Her 99 career runs scored are seventh-most in school history, with her 32 doubles tied for third-most, eight home runs tied for ninth-most and 75 RBI seventh-most.

Also a libero on the Auggie volleyball team, Rehder earned CSC Academic All-District honors twice and was an All-MIAC Honorable Mention selection in 2023.

Under first-year head coach Laura Heise, Augsburg finished with a 15-25 overall record and 6-16 conference mark in 2025.

The CSC Academic All-District team is part of the CSC Academic All-America program. Nominated by athletic communication professionals at their schools, student-athletes must have a grade-point average above 3.50 (4.0 scale) and have outstanding athletic credentials. Select Academic All-District honorees are considered for advancement to the CSC Academic All-America ballot. Softball Academic All-America honorees will be announced on June 17.

The Division III Academic All-America program is being financially supported by the NCAA Division III national governance structure, to assist CSC with handling the awards fulfillment aspects for the Division III Academic All-America teams program.
