Auggie track season starts at Minnesota Open

MINNEAPOLIS – The Augsburg University men's and women's track and field teams opened their 2026 indoor campaigns at the University of Minnesota Open on Saturday.

MEN'S HIGHLIGHTS
• Henry Nelson (SR, St. Louis Park, Minn./St. Louis Park HS) set a personal-best time in the mile run, finishing in 4:44.60. Paul Yang (SO, St. Paul, Minn./Washington Tech Magnet HS) finished in 5:26.68 and Tanner Rouillard-Horne (SR, St. Paul, Minn./Harding HS) finished in 5:57.38.
Shawn Huberty (FY, St. Paul, Minn./Washington Tech Magnet HS) made his collegiate debut in the high jump with a 1.90-meter (6-feet-2.75) clearance. He also recorded a 7.80-second time in the 60-meter dash.
Kyler Bad Warrior (SO, Shakopee, Minn./V. Sue Cleveland (N.M.) HS) finished in 1:35.17 to lead the Auggies in the 600-meter run, with Evan Bitengo (SO, Coon Rapids, Minn./Anoka HS) finishing in 1:36.56 and Hamza Mohamed (FY, Burnsville, Minn./Lakeville South HS) finishing in 1:36.70. The three runners also competed in the 200-meter dash, with Bad Warrior finishing in 25.91 seconds, Bitengto finishing in 25.57 seconds and Mohamed finishing in 26.11 seconds.
Foster Mulvehill (JR, New Brighton, Minn./Irondale HS) led the Auggies in both sprint events, finishing in 7.47 seconds in the 60-meter dash and 24.80 seconds in the 200-meter dash.
Nahom Negassie (FY, Minneapolis, Minn./Hopkins HS) finished in 7.52 seconds in the 60 and 25.30 seconds in the 200. 
D'Vante McElroy (FY, Apple Valley, Minn./Apple Valley HS) finished in 7.56 seconds in the 60. He also made his field event debut in the shot put, with a 12.10-meter (39-feet-8.50) effort.
LaDondre Hubbard Rivera (FY, Brooklyn Park, Minn./Washington Tech Magnet HS) finished in 7.66 seconds in the 60 and 26.22 seconds in the 200.
JT Kimbrough (FY, Mound, Minn./Mound-Westonka HS) finished in 7.71 seconds in the 60. Alex Chan (SR, Minneapolis, Minn./Groves Academy HS) finished in 8.07 seconds in the 60 and 27.13 seconds in the 200, and Tyler Anderson (FY, Burnsville, Minn./Apple Valley HS) finished in 8.17 seconds in the 60.

WOMEN'S HIGHLIGHTS
Davi Worman (JR, Edina, Minn./Groves Academy HS) and Emma Ryan (FY, St. Joseph, Minn./Rocori HS) competed in the mile run, finishing in 7:13.22 and 7:50.78, respectively.
Sanii Hansbrough (FY, Minneapolis, Minn./Southwest HS) made her collegiate debut in the shot put, with a 7.50-meter (24-feet-7.25) effort.
• Three Auggie sprinters competed in the 60- and 200-meter dashes. Allison Hookom (SR, Anoka, Minn./Anoka HS) finished in 8.36 seconds in the 60 and 27.17 seconds in the 200; Emaire Greene (FY, Jacksonville, Fla./Bishop John J. Snyder HS) finished in 9.23 seconds in the 60 and 30.75 seconds in the 200; and Jamouria Henderson (FY, Minneapolis, Minn./North HS) finished in 8.90 seconds in the 60 and 33.29 seconds in the 200.
