MEET RESULTS
MINNEAPOLIS -- The Augsburg University men's and women's track and field teams opened their seasons at the Minnesota Open hosted by the University of Minnesota on Saturday afternoon.
WOMEN'S HIGHLIGHTS
•
Mya Bishop (SO, St. Paul Minn./Highland HS) finished third with a new personal record time of 1:54.71 in the 600m and also set a new personal best in the 60-meter dash with a time of 8.90.
•
Annabel Lantz (FY, Afton, Minn./Stillwater Area HS) also finished third in the 400m with a time of 1:14.24.
•
Brianna Parsons (SO, Oakdale, Minn./North St. Paul HS) finished fourth in the 60-meter dash with a time of 8.56 and sixth in the 200m with a time of 34.96.
•
Savannah Smith (SO, Brooklyn Park, Minn./Champlin Park HS) rounded out the Auggies in the 60-meter dash with a sixth-place finish and time of 9.83. She also took eighth place in the 200m with a time of 34.96.
MEN'S HIGHLIGHTS
•
Sharrod Longs Jr. (FY, Minneapolis, Minn,/South HS) made a splash in his collegiate debut as he finished second in the 200m with a time of 24.90.
Fawas Abubakar (SO, Rochester, Minn./ John Marshall HS) finished fourth in the 200m with a time of 27.01.
•
Brandon Doe (FY, Roseville, Minn./Irondale HS) finished eighth in the 60-meter dash with a time of 7.46 and eighth in the 60-meter hurdles with a time of 8.98.
• In the mile run,
Sakariya Hussien (JR, Hopkins, Minn./Hopkins HS) finished fifth with a time of 4:34.33,
Getinat Asfaw (SO, Eagan, Minn./Rosemount HS) took seventh with a time of 4:39.16, and
Bereket Wondimu (SO, Eagan, Minn./Burnsville HS) finished 10
th with a time of 4:58.16.

• Augsburg will compete at the University of St. Thomas Open on Friday, Jan. 14 in St. Paul.
