MINNEAPOLIS -- Augsburg University soccer players Ashley St. Aubin (SR, Burnsville, Minn./Burnsville HS), Emily Chapman (SR, Elburn, Ill./Kaneland HS) and Daniel Hedstrom (SR, Hermantown, Minn./Hermantown HS) were named to the United Soccer Coaches Division III Scholar All-North/Central Region Teams on Monday. St. Aubin was named as a first-team women's honoree, while Chapman was named a second-team women's honoree and Hedstrom was named a second-team men's honoree.

St. Aubin is a mathematics major with a 3.82 grade-point average, Chapman is a chemistry major with a 3.87 GPA, and Hedstrom is a marketing major with a 3.57 GPA. It's the second year in a row that St. Aubin and Hedstrom have earned Scholar All-Region honors, while it's the first honor for Chapman. This season, St. Aubin earned College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) Academic All-District and Academic All-America honors, while Chapman also earned CoSIDA Academic All-District honors. Hedstrom also earned CoSIDA Academic All-District honors this season. Last year, St. Aubin and Hedstrom earned both Scholar All-North/Central Region and Scholar All-America honors from the United Soccer Coaches.

To earn United Soccer Coaches Scholar All-Region honors, student-athletes must have a 3.30 or better cumulative GPA, must be a junior academically (or if a transfer, have completed one full academic year at their current institution), and have started at least 50 percent of their team's games, while also significantly contributing to their teams. Augsburg women's soccer student-athletes have now earned 15 Scholar All-Region honors since 2008, while Augsburg men's soccer student-athletes have earned 17 Scholar All-Region honors since 2006.

Ashley St. AubinThe honor is the latest in an incredible career for St. Aubin, who has earned nearly every playing honor and academic honor available to a Division III collegiate soccer player. She was named to the United Soccer Coaches NCAA Division III Women's Soccer All-America Team for the third straight year, this year as a first-team forward, the first Auggie women's soccer player to ever earn three United Soccer Coaches (formerly National Soccer Coaches Association of America) All-America honors.

St. Aubin made Minnesota intercollegiate Athletic Conference history in her final collegiate campaign, breaking the conference's 25-year-old record for career goals and tying a 32-year-old conference record for career points. She finished her career with school records for both goals (71) and points (173), adding 31 assists (second in Augsburg history). The old MIAC record of 69 goals was set in 1994 by Macalester's Jenny Scanlon (1991-94), and the old league points record of 173 (62 goals, 49 assists) was set in 1987 by Heidi Campbell of Saint Mary's (1984-87).

She became one of just 17 players in conference women's soccer history to earn All-MIAC honors all four years of their careers, when she was named to the All-MIAC squad last month. St. Aubin was named the MIAC's Offensive Player of the Year in 2017 and the league's Rookie of the Year in 2016. She also became the first Augsburg women's soccer player ever to earn United Soccer Coaches All-Region honors all four years of her career, when she was named as a first-team forward this season.

For the fourth straight year, St. Aubin led the MIAC's overall statistics in both goals (18) and total points (42), her fourth straight season with 36 or more points. Her nine assists were tied for second-most among league players. She recorded a goal or assist in 18 of Augsburg's 21 games this season. St. Aubin scored at least one goal in 55 games in her 83-game career, and the Auggies were 48-6-1 when she scored a goal.

Emily ChapmanChapman capped her Auggie career by earning United Soccer Coaches All-North Region honors for the second straight season, this year as a second-team goalkeeper. Chapman was named the MIAC Defensive Player of the Year in November, also earning All-MIAC honors.

Augsburg's primary goalkeeper the last two seasons, Chapman put together some incredible numbers in those campaigns. Playing in all but 34:04 of Augsburg's minutes in goal this season, she finished with a 15-4-2 record with eight individual shutouts, a 0.99 goals against-average and .844 save percentage, with 114 saves in 1,904 minutes in goal. Among MIAC goalkeepers in overall statistics, Chapman's eight shutouts were tied for the league-high, while her 15 wins were tops in the MIAC. She finished third in save percentage and sixth in GAA.

Chapman appeared in 70 career games in goal, with a 39-15-2 record, 0.88 GAA and an .850 save percentage, with 288 saves in 5,242 minutes in goal and 22 shutouts. Her 39 wins are second-most in school history, her .714 career winning percentage is third-best, her 0.88 GAA is fifth-best and her 22 shutouts are fifth-best.

Daniel HedstromHedstrom earned United Soccer Coaches All-North Region third-team honors this season, after being named as a first-team honoree in 2018. He was also named to the United Soccer Coaches Division III All-America third-team last season. He also earned All-MIAC honors in both 2019 and 2018.

Hedstrom continued his strong play as both a defender and a leader for the Auggies, serving as team captain for the second straight year. Playing in 17 games, he was on the field for an incredible 1,516 of the team's 1,591 minutes -- 95.3 percent of the team's action. He scored four goals with two assists for 10 points, with all his goals coming on set pieces, as he used his 6-foot-5 height to full advantage. Hedstrom finished second on the team in goals and tied for second on the team in points.

Hedstrom scored three game-winning goals this season -- in a 3-2 win at Pacific Lutheran on Sept. 1, a 2-1 win over Wisconsin-Superior on Sept. 7 and a 2-1 win at Concordia-Moorhead on Oct. 29, and was a key defender for an Augsburg backfield that helped produce six team shutouts in 2019.

In three seasons at Augsburg after playing his first season (14 games in 2016) at Division II Northern Michigan, Hedstrom finished his 47-game Augsburg career with 12 goals and four assists for 28 points. He played in 3,339 minutes (95.9 percent) of action the last two seasons.

Under 21st-year head coach Mike Navarre, Augsburg's women's soccer team returned to the NCAA Division III national tournament for the third time in a six-year span, after winning a share of the MIAC regular-season title and reaching the conference playoff title game for the fifth time in the last eight seasons. Augsburg finished the 2019 season with a 15-4-2 overall record and 9-1-1 mark in MIAC play, marking the eighth straight year of double-digit victories and the sixth straight year earning eight or more conference wins.

Under 16th-year head coach Greg Holker, Augsburg's men's soccer team finished 9-6-3 overall, 4-5-1 in MIAC play in 2019. Augsburg has recorded eight or more wins in 12 of the last 14 seasons.
