2019 UNITED SOCCER COACHES DIVISION III WOMEN'S SOCCER ALL-AMERICA TEAMS

MINNEAPOLIS -- For the third straight year, Augsburg University's Ashley St. Aubin (SR, Burnsville, Minn./Burnsville HS) was named to the United Soccer Coaches NCAA Division III Women's Soccer All-America Team, this year as a first-team forward, it was announced on Thursday.

St. Aubin is the first Auggie women's soccer player to ever earn three United Soccer Coaches (formerly National Soccer Coaches Association of America) All-America honors, after earning All-American honors in both 2018 (third team) and 2017 (second team). She also earned D3soccer.com All-America second-team honors in 2018. 

Augsburg women's soccer players have now earned All-American honors eight times in program history; in addition to St. Aubin, Emily Gregg '17 was a NSCAA second-team and D3soccer.com third-team honoree in 2016, Marie Fitzgerald '16 was a NSCAA third-team honoree in 2015 and Molly Allen '15 was a NSCAA third-team honoree in 2014.

She was one of three players among the 48 named to the three women's All-America teams to earn the honor three times, joining fellow first-teamers Julia Panko of the Stevens Institute of Technology (N.J.) and Brooke Firestone of Messiah (Pa.). St. Aubin was the lone Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference player named to the 15-member first team. Three MIAC players earned third-team recognition: St. Thomas defender Alex Balfour, St. Thomas midfielder Kate Heimer and Saint Benedict forward Megan Thompson.

St. Aubin made conference history in her final collegiate campaign, breaking the conference's 25-year-old record for career goals and tying a 32-year-old conference record for career points. She finished her career with school records for both goals (71) and points (173), adding 31 assists (second in Augsburg history). The old MIAC record of 69 goals was set in 1994 by Macalester's Jenny Scanlon (1991-94), and the old league points record of 173 (62 goals, 49 assists) was set in 1987 by Heidi Campbell of Saint Mary's (1984-87).

She became one of just 17 players in conference women's soccer history to earn All-MIAC honors all four years of their careers, when she was named to the All-MIAC squad last month. St. Aubin was named the MIAC's Offensive Player of the Year in 2017 and the league's Rookie of the Year in 2016. On Monday, she became the first Augsburg women's soccer player ever to earn United Soccer Coaches All-Region honors all four years of her career, when she was named a first-team forward for the third straight year, after earning second-team honors in 2016.

For the fourth straight season, St. Aubin led the MIAC's overall statistics in both goals (18) and total points (42), her fourth straight season with 36 or more points. Her nine assists were tied for second-most among league players. She recorded a goal or assist in 18 of Augsburg's 21 games this season. St. Aubin scored at least one goal in 55 games in her 83-game career, and the Auggies were 48-6-1 when she scored a goal.

A mathematics major with a 3.82 grade-point average, St. Aubin earned College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) Academic All-America honors for the second straight year, when she was named as a second-team honoree on Tuesday. St. Aubin also earned CoSIDA Academic All-America second-team honors last season, CoSIDA Academic All-District honors each of the last three seasons, and United Soccer Coaches Scholar All-America second-team and Scholar All-North/Central Region first-team honors last year. She's also a two-time Academic All-MIAC honoree.

Under 21st-year head coach Mike Navarre, the Auggies returned to the NCAA Division III national tournament for the third time in a six-year span, after winning a share of the Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference regular-season title and reaching the conference playoff title game for the fifth time in the last eight seasons. Augsburg finished the 2019 season with a 15-4-2 overall record and 9-1-1 mark in MIAC play, marking the eighth straight year of double-digit victories and the sixth straight year earning eight or more conference wins. St. Aubin led a senior class that combined for a 59-20-4 (.735) overall and 33-8-3 (.784) MIAC record in its four seasons, with two MIAC regular-season championships (2017, 2019), an MIAC playoff title (2016), three MIAC playoff title game appearances (2016, 2018, 2019) and two NCAA Division III national tournament appearances (2016, 2019).
