Auggies compete at Vanessa Seljeskog Classic

MEN'S RESULTS | WOMEN'S RESULTS

ST. PAUL, Minn. -- The Augsburg University men's and women's track and field teams competed for the second time this season on Saturday afternoon at the Vanessa Seljeskog Classic hosted by Macalester College.

WOMEN'S HIGHLIGHTS

• The Auggies found success in the 60-meter dash with three different runners scoring points. Mya Bishop (SO, St. Paul Minn./Highland HS) clocked a time of 8.30 to finish second and earn eight points for Augsburg. Jordan Terry (SR, Shakopee, Minn./Shakopee HS) finished in fifth and earned two points with a time of 8.95 seconds while Savannah Smith (SO, Brooklyn Park, Minn./Champlin Park HS) finished sixth and grabbed a point with a time of 9.82 seconds.
• Annabel Lantz (FY, Afton, Minn./Stillwater Area HS) grabbed two points in the 400m with a fifth-place finish and new personal-best time of 1:11.91.
• Bishop earned an additional point in the 600m with a sixth-place finish and a time of 1:57.42.

MEN'S HIGHLIGHTS

• Sakariya Hussien (JR, Hopkins, Minn./Hopkins HS) finished third in the 800m with a time of 2:01.06, earning six points for the Auggies. Getinat Asfaw (SO, Eagan, Minn./Rosemount HS) also earned two points for Augsburg in the 800m, clocking a time of 2:03.04 and finishing fifth.
• Taron Busby (SR, Minneapolis, Minn./Hope Academy HS) finished second and grabbed a point for the Auggies in the 60-meter dash with a time of 7.49 seconds.
• Evan Bergemann (SR, Lake Crystal, Minn./Lake Crystal-Wellcome Memorial HS) finished sixth in the shot put with a 12.37-meter toss, earning a point for Augsburg.

• Augsburg will compete at Gene Glader Classic hosted by Bethel on Saturday, Feb. 5 beginning at 10 a.m.
