2022 MWLC ATHLETES OF THE WEEK

MINNEAPOLIS -- Augsburg University women's lacrosse midfielder Maylynn Prokopec (SO, Owatonna, Minn./Owatonna HS) was named the Midwest Women's Lacrosse Conference Offensive Athlete of the Week, it was announced on Monday.

Prokopec scored 10 of Augsburg's 15 goals on the weekend on 18 shots, adding seven ground balls and three caused turnovers in a pair of Auggie losses in Wisconsin. On Saturday, she tied an Augsburg single-game school record with seven goals, adding six ground balls and three caused turnovers in Augsburg's 15-11 loss at Beloit (Wis.). On Sunday, she scored three goals with a ground ball in the Auggies' 21-4 loss at Carroll (Wis.). Three of her 10 goals came on free-position shots.

On the season, Prokopec has scored 11 of Augsburg's 16 goals, with eight ground balls, three caused turnovers and a draw control.

Now 0-3 overall, Augsburg will host Wisconsin-Eau Claire in a nonconference game on Wednesday (3/9) at 4:30 p.m. at Edor Nelson Field.
