Auggies compete at Snowshoe Open

RESULTS

MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. – The Augsburg University men's and women's track and field teams competed at the Snowshoe Open hosted by the University of Minnesota on Friday in their final competition before the Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Championships next weekend.

WOMEN'S HIGHLIGHTS
• Mya Bishop (SO, St. Paul Minn./Highland HS) grabbed a top-ten finish in the 60-meter dash, taking ninth place with a time of 8.84 seconds.
• Elisa Pagan (FY, San Vito Di Cadore, Italy/D. Dolomieu Longarone) earned the first top-ten finish of her career, setting a new personal record and finishing 10th in the 200-meter with a time of 31.41 seconds.
• Jordan Terry (SR, Shakopee, Minn./Shakopee HS) took third place in the long jump with a distance of 4.83 meters.

MEN'S HIGHLIGHTS
•  Sakariya Hussien (JR, Hopkins, Minn./Hopkins HS) finished in eighth place in the mile run, clocking a time of 4:32.71. Getinat Asfaw (SO, Eagan, Minn./Rosemount HS) and Max Jacobson (FY, Belle Plaine, Minn./Zurich International School) finished back-to-back behind Hussien, finishing 11th and 12th with times of 4:44.93 and 4:44.94, respectively. Jacobson's time set a new personal record.
• The 4x400-meter relay team of Asfaw, Parker Blake (SR, Champlin, Minn./Champlin Park HS), Hussien, and Fritz Landherr (JR, Tracy, Minn./Tracy Area HS) took third place with a time of 3:40.20.
Taron Busby (SR, Minneapolis, Minn./Hope Academy HS) narrowly missed out on a top-ten finish in the 200-meter, finishing 11th with a time of 24.02 seconds.   

UP NEXT
• The Auggies will now set their sights on the MIAC Indoor Championships hosted by Carleton in Northfield, Minn. on Friday (2/25) and Saturday (2/26).
