MEN'S RESULTS | WOMEN'S RESULTS
ST. PAUL, Minn. – The Augsburg University men's and women's track and field teams were back in action on Wednesday afternoon, earning seven top-ten finishes at the Tom Cat Invitational hosted by the University of St. Thomas.
MEN'S HIGHLIGHTS
•
Varney Conneh (JR, Champlin, Minn./Champlin Park HS) grabbed another top-ten finish for the Auggies in the 100-meter dash, clocking a time of 11.33 seconds to finish in ninth place.
•
Fritz Landherr (JR, Tracy, Minn./Tracy Area HS) finished in ninth place in the 400-meter dash with a time of 53.03 seconds.
•
Getinat Asfaw (SO, Eagan, Minn./Rosemount HS) and
Sakariya Hussien (JR, Hopkins, Minn./Hopkins HS) finished back-to-back in the 800 meter with Asfaw finishing sixth behind a time of 1:59.81 and Hussien finishing seventh with a time of 2:00.26. The pair also grabbed top-ten finishes in the 1500 meter with Hussein clocking a time of 4:05.76 to finish third and Asfaw finishing in 4:10.72 to claim seventh place.
• The 4x100-meter relay team of
Parker Blake (SR, Champlain, Min./Champlin Park HS),
Taron Busby (SR, Minneapolis, Minn./Hope Academy HS),
Sharrod Longs Jr. (FY, Minneapolis, Minn./South HS), and Conneh finished second with a time of 44.87 seconds.
WOMEN'S HIGHLIGHTS
•
Mya Bishop (SO, St. Paul Minn./Highland HS) was the top overall finisher for the Auggie women, claiming 12th place in the 400-meter dash with a time of 1:05.34.
•
Jordan Terry (SR, Shakopee, Minn./Shakopee HS) finished in 14th place in the long jump with a distance of 4.65 meters.
• Bishop also competed in the 100-meter dash, finishing 26th with a time of 14.10 seconds.
Elisa Pagan (FY, San Vito di Cadore, Italy/D. Dolomieu Longarone) and
Savannah Smith (SO, Brooklyn Park, Minn./Fridley HS) finished just behind her in the event in 29th and 31st place with times of 14.82 and 15.64 seconds, respectively.
