Ben Erickson will be remembered as one of the best golfers to ever compete at Augsburg, as the Auggies’ first-ever four-time All-MIAC competitor. He finished fifth at the conference meet twice, second in his junior year and third in his senior season, when the Auggies won the MIAC team championship for the second time in school history. He was a part of Auggie men’s golf teams that qualified for two NCAA Division III national tournaments, and he finished in a tie for 39th place at the 1995 national meet. Ben currently stands fourth in the modern era history of Augsburg men’s golf with a 75.91 career stroke average. He had a 76.31 stroke average in the 1994-95 season and a 75.17 stroke average in 1995-96, the seventh-best single-season average in school history. Ben was an accounting major and history minor at Augsburg, and has own an insurance agency based in Minneapolis for the past quarter-century. He served as a high school basketball coach at Minnehaha Academy for 10 years, and coached youth baseball and basketball in Minneapolis for many years. Ben and his wife, Anne, have two children, a daughter, Jordan and a son, Camren, and live in Minneapolis, Minnesota.
