A three-time All-MIAC men’s basketball selection (1978-79, 1979-80, 1980-81), Henderson was a member of Auggie teams that won MIAC championships in 1979-80 and 1980-81 (later vacated), an NAIA national tournament first-round berth in 1979-80 and an NAIA district championship and NAIA Final Eight team in 1980-81 as team co-captain. In three seasons at Augsburg, Henderson scored 904 career points, good for 29th best in school history, averaging 10.9 points per game. His 20 assists in a 1979 game against Saint Mary’s is still the single-game school record, and he holds the school record for career assists. He graduated from Augsburg in 1981 with a psychology and health/physical education degree. He continued his basketball career after his Auggie days, playing in leagues in Australia and Mexico, and also did work for the Minnesota Timberwolves NBA team, working with youth camps and speaking engagements. He also served as a referee and umpire in the Twin Cities for many years. He worked as a behavior specialist in the Minneapolis Public Schools. He was inducted into the Minnesota High School Basketball Hall of Fame in 2019. He has four children, Aneshia, Krystal, Yves and Ronnie Jr., and lives in Minneapolis, Minn.
