Whitney (Holman) Mead, Class of 2010 … Whitney Mead excelled in two sports during her Augsburg days, as a forward and defender in women’s soccer and as a sprinter in track and field. In soccer, she started every game of her 71-game career, scoring 10 goals with 10 assists for 30 points, earning All-MIAC honors her senior year and All-MIAC Honorable Mention honors her sophomore and junior years. She was a part of teams that made MIAC postseason playoffs twice. In track and field, she was a three-time All-MIAC and five-time All-MIAC Honorable mention honoree, winning conference titles in 2010 in the indoor 55-meter dash and as part of the outdoor 4x100-meter relay, that also earned a berth in the NCAA Division III national meet. She earned CoSIDA Academic All-District honors twice, coaches association all-academic honors three times and Academic All-MIAC honors five times. Whitney was a psychology and religion double major at Augsburg, earning Dean’s List honors all throughout her career and graduating Summa Cum Laude. She earned her master’s degree in communication sciences and disorders from St. Cloud State, and moved into work in both public schools and private practice as a speech language pathologist. She currently works as an assistant professor and clinical supervisor at Minnesota State Moorhead in the speech language hearing sciences department. Whitney lives in Fargo, North Dakota with her husband Adam, children Ellis and Lennox, and their dog, Mabel.
