Ryan McIntosh, Class of 2001 … Ryan McIntosh will be remembered as one of the best goalies in the long and storied history of Augsburg’s men’s hockey program. He played in 98 career games as an Auggie, starting as a first-year in leading the Auggies to a fourth-place NCAA Division III national tournament finish. A starter on three MIAC playoff teams, he had a 47-35-and-13 record as an Auggie, with a 3.18 goals against-average and .908 save percentage, with six shutouts. Ryan earned All-MIAC honors all four years of his career, earning AHCA All-American second team honors in 1997-98. He was a two-time team MVP, a six-time MIAC Athlete of the Week honoree and a three-time USCHO National Player of the week honoree. He holds Augsburg’s school record for career wins and saves, while standing second in shutouts, sixth in save percentage and 10th in goals against-average. Ryan was a biology major and chemistry minor at Augsburg. He continued his hockey career in the United Hockey League for three teams in the years following graduation. After retiring from hockey, he began a career in the pharmaceutical industry, working for Astra Zeneca, Novo Norodisk and Lilly USA. Ryan and his wife Stacy were married in 2006, and they reside in Elmira, New York, with their incredible cute dogs Jase and Finn.
