Larry Lamparske ‘69 (Football/Hockey/Track & Field) -- Offensive lineman in football, earning All-MIAC honors in 1966, 1967 and 1968, and NAIA All-District honors in 1966 and 1967 … Also played hockey and track & field during his Auggie days … Played in Canadian Football League for Hamilton TigerCats … Served as a physical education teacher and coach for the Minneapolis Public Schools for 35 years … In later life, he and his wife Sue became well-known for their collection of Disney “Goofy” memorabilia, leading him to be nicknamed “Goofy” … Passed away on July 21, 2023.
Larry Lamparske, class of 1969 … Larry Lamparske was a multi-sport athlete at Augsburg, playing on the football, hockey and track and field teams. He shined in football, where he earned All-MIAC honors as an offensive lineman in 1966, 1967 and 1968. He earned NAIA All-District honors in both 1966 and 1967. Larry signed a contract with the Canadian Football League, and played briefly with the Hamilton TigerCats. Larry was a physical education major at Augsburg, and after graduating, he worked for 37 years as a physical education and teacher in the Minneapolis Public Schools. With his wife Sue, they developed a unique collection of Disney “Goofy” memorabilia, leading him to be nicknamed “Goofy” by his friends. Larry and Sue had two children, Adam and Hannah, and three grandchildren. Larry passed away on July 21st, 2023.
