Reimer played both basketball and baseball while at Augsburg. As a guard in basketball, his was named All-Conference his junior season but the St. Paul Pioneer Press and Duluth News Tribune. Along with All-Conference honorable mention honors from the Minneapolis Tribune.  Reimer was named Augsburg honor athlete in 1953 and was a team captain in baseball. He taught and coached at Mound Westonka.
