Whitney Restemayer ’10 (Women’s Hockey) -- First woman to coach a state high school hockey championship team in Minnesota history, when she coached the Thief River Falls High School girls’ hockey team to the 2015 Class A state championship … Named 2015 Class A State Coach of the Year honoree … Coached at Moorhead HS in 2017-18 and 2018-19 seasons … Currently serves as girls’ JV head coach at Edina HS … Native of Bemidji, Minn., played hockey (4 years) and softball (2 years)  at Augsburg … As defender in hockey, played in 96 career games, scoring 9 goals with 14 assists for 23 career points, with 4 power-play goals … As an outfielder in softball in 2007 and 2008, played in 75 games (72 starts), hitting .244 (51-of-209) with 26 runs scored, 15 doubles, 1 triple, 3 home runs, 12 RBI, 15 stolen bases, .368 slugging percentage and .301 on-base percentage.
A 2010 graduate of Augsburg, Restemayer became the first woman to coach a state high school hockey championship team in Minnesota history, coaching the Thief River Falls High School girls' hockey team to the 2015 Class A state championship. She was named the 2015 Class A State Coach of the Year, going on to coach at Moorhead High School from 2017-2019. In her playing years at Augsburg, Restemayer participated in both hockey and softball, scoring 9 goals with 14 assists as a defender in hockey and hitting .244 with 26 runs scored and 12 runs batted in in softball. A native of Bemidji, Minnesota, Whitney earned her master’s degree from Emporia State University, and has taught and coached for the past 15 years. Whitney currently resides in Eagan, Minnesota, where she serves as a health and physical education teacher and junior varsity hockey coach at Edina High School.
