James See ‘09 (Soccer) -- Has spent eight seasons as boys’ soccer coach at Academy of Holy Angels, where he has a 123-14-12 record ... In his tenure, AHA Stars have won Minnesota Class AA state titles in 2019 and 2024, winning  five section titles ... Named United Soccer Coaches Association Minnesota State Coach of the Year four times (2019, 2021, 2023, 2024), and National High School Coach of the Year and Great Lakes Region Coach of the Year in 2019 ... Named Minnesota State High School Soccer Coaches Association Class AA State Coach of the Year in 2023, and Section Coach of the Year 5 times (2015, 2018, 2019, 2020, 2023) ... AHA has had 3 Mr. Soccer Award recipients, a Minnesota Gatorade Player of the Year, 1 All-American, 4 conference players of the year, 17 All-State and 48 All-Conference selections ... AHA has received seven team academic honors for classroom performance, and a Scholar All-America  honoree ... Previously coached on high school level at Eden Prairie (2011) and Shakopee (2012-15) ... As a player at Augsburg, See earned All-MIAC first-team honors in 2006, 2007 and 2008, while also earning National Soccer Coaches Association of America/Adidas All-Far West Region third-team honors in 2008 ... He was voted the team’s Most Valuable Player and Auggie Award-winner in 2007 and 2008, as a captain for the Auggies’ NCAA Division III national tournament squad ... He was a part of teams that went 41-25-12 in his career, reaching the MIAC postseason playoffs twice ... See appeared in 72 games in his Auggie career, starting 65, with two goals and six assists for 10 career points, including one game-winning goal ... See earned bachelor's degrees in psychology and sociology at Augsburg in 2009 and his master's degree in education at Augsburg in 2017. See holds a teaching license in emotional/behavioral disabilities and is a Dean of Students in the Wayzata School District.
James See, Class of 2009 ... Our Excellence in Coaching Award honoree for 2025 has developed a reputation as one of the premier soccer coaches in Minnesota. James See has spent the last eight seasons as the boys’ soccer coach at the Academy of Holy Angels, where he has a 123-14-and-12 record entering this season, including Minnesota Class AA state titles in both 2019 and 2024. He has earned United Soccer Coaches Minnesota State Coach of the Year four times, and earned National High School and Great Lakes Region Coach of the Year in 2019. His players at Holy Angels earned Mr. Soccer honors three times, an All-America and state player of the year honor, four conference player of the year honors, 17 all-state and 48 all-conference honors. He also served as a high school coach at Shakopee and Eden Prairie, and as an Augsburg assistant coach for six years. James has also spent 20 seasons as a club coach. As a player at Augsburg, James was a three-time All-MIAC honoree and an all-region honoree his senior season. James was a psychology and sociology major at Augsburg, and earned his master’s degree in education from Augsburg. James currently serves as a Dean of Students in the Wayzata School District, and he lives in Richfield, Minnesota.
